Following my earlier announcement that Boulevard WP would be coded by CodeMyConcept and hosted by SFF Hosting, I can now today unveil the final theme, but with a twist. Originally, the plan was to make and host a site where we could sell the Boulevard W theme independently, so that we could be confident of knowing that every penny would go to the charity chosen. This proved harder than it sounds – credit card, or PayPal, secure web pages and so on. The list of things that could go wrong outweighed the benefits of the plan.
Having dismissed the idea of selling the theme on a premium marketplace due to losing a cut of the sales, it wasn’t until I came across another marketplace that seemed more in tune with selling great looking themes as well as having a friendly approach to clients and designers. Not only that, but they also give 75% commission out of the box, one of the highest commission rates of the marketplace sites. So, as you do, I asked if they could waive their 25% fee if I sold the theme with them, and they agreed! So let’s give a big round of applause to Superhug!
With the theme delayed for weeks with perfectionist changes and family life interrupting, the theme was finally completed last week, and I’ve spent all this week writing the most comprehensive guide I’ve written for a WordPress theme, as well as preparing the theme and files for upload to Superhug, and last night I finally completed it. The theme was approved this afternoon, and I can proudly share the link!
You can buy the theme now from Superhug for only $25 (~£15) with all of the money raised going to a charity that is close to mine and my family’s hearts, Henshaws Society for Blind People. Henshaws are a great charity for visually impaired children and adults, providing support, training and equipment to VI sufferers, and are always on hand to provide support and advice for those that need it. We have used the Liverpool branch of Henshaws regularly for our little girl who used their sensory room to great effect and stimulation, and with our newborn baby having recently been diagnosed as blind, we will definitely be using Henshaws again as a way of supporting and aiding the baby’s visual problems.
So, what better way of raising money for a great charity than buying a theme that will make your new WordPress website a stunning, well-presented and feature-heavy design that will look great whether it’s a personal site, portfolio or for business use. Using the easy to read and understand help guide, you could have a stunning website up and running using a great platform, and all for only $25 and the knowledge that you’ve donated to a great cause. What are you waiting for?
Big thanks and shout-outs to the great partners in this: CodeMyConcept for the coding for free, and putting up with my perfectionist ways; Superhug for of course selling the theme with no take for themselves; and SFF Hosting, who without them, you wouldn’t be able see this site, never mind the theme! Thanks guys!!
