Lately, here has been a huge surge in the amount of freebie websites out there, offering everything from iconsets to full website templates, to random vectors and themes. Previously, only the biggest websites offered freebies as a token of thanks to subscribers and readers, or if you wanted to give it away for free, deviantART was the next best place. Now, the the choice is superb for you to submit those spare PSDs and vectors you have lying around, and with big designers jumping on the freebie bandwagon, the time is definitely right to get your hands on some excellent resources. Below, I’ve listed my favourite submissions from across the 3 biggest resource websites – PremiumPixels, 365psd and DesignMoo.
PremiumPixels
Owned and run by Orman Clark, PremiumPixels offers everything from PSD website templates to amazing textures, perfect for web design or wallpaper creation.
365psd
Originally conceived by Jonno Riekwel as a project of giving away a free resource every day for a year, 365psd has since been taken over with a promise to give away a free resource every day, for ever. Similar to PremiumPixels, the resources aren’t just limited to Photoshop templates, but textures, icons and even WordPress themes, so there’s something for everyone.
DesignMoo
Started by the guys who now own 365psd, DesignMoo is a great website dedicated to resources across all platforms, including PSDs, vectors and website templates. Membership is by invite only, thus keeping up a certain quality on the site, and you’ll always find something you’re looking for and more on DesignMoo. With DesignMoo Pro coming soon, giving members the opportunity to sell their designs, Dropbox integration and larger previews, DesignMoo is the main to watch out for out of the three sites mentioned here.
Keep on visiting 365psd, DesignMoo and PremiumPixels for more amazing resources to help with your projects, whether they be work or personal. Keep an eye out too for a bumper Snapshots post from me, featuring DesignMoo.
