Something happened last year, something I wasn’t expecting at all. For only the second time in my life, I was simultaneously shocked, overwhelmed, awed, blown away and just plain mind-f***ed. The first time around it was a film called The Matrix. This time around, that film was Inception.Much had been said about Inception by the time I had time to go and watch it, but even from the very first trailer I was hooked and knew I had to go and see it. Sitting in my local cinema – FACT – I was excited and worried at the same time; excited because not since the Matrix had I seen something so new and fresh, but worried because I really didn’t want to be disappointed by the hype sourrounding Christopher Nolan’s first film after Dark Knight. Upon watching the first half an hour, the latter thoughts were quickly put away, and by the end of the film, didn’t even exist. Containing the perfect mix of suspense, intrigue, radical ideas, great acting and casting, Inception blew me away and I could not stop thinking of the film even days afterwards. Only after seeing the film did I understand people’s excitement over the film, the internet buzz surrounding it, and people’s offering of designs and ideas they were sharing across the world. Everywhere you looked, people were designing posters and infographics that were clearly inspired by the film, and I lost count of the amount of wallpapers I’d seen designed in homage to the film.
Below you’ll find a great mix of posters, infographics and wallpapers designed by fans around the world, as well as the trailer if you haven’t already seen it. Enjoy.
