Right. Two weeks in and I thought I’d go all egotistical and write a post where I simply list what I want! But don’t worry, everything in here has a design theme – I promise!
In some ways, this is exactly just how my Amazon/Apple Store wish list goes, but the contents are different than the ones you’ll find on general sale. There’s everything from customised Macbook Pros, to custom trainers, to one-of-a-kind items well beyond my rate of pay for many years! So without further ado, let me present my ultimate wishlist that only winning the lottery would buy!
Hardware
Stealth Macbook Pro

Forget your average Macbook Pro at the small cost of £1500. Forget getting a skin for it at £30 a pop. What you want is a fully-customised Macbook Pro, that would sell at retail for $5999 (approx £3800). This limited edition piece is an all-black 15-inch MacBook Pro with a matte display, 3.06GHz CPU, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, 256GB SSD, an 8x SuperDrive, zero gloss finish and a SofTouch coating that’ll make it downright impossible for your fingers to stop stroking it. And only ten were made, and all ten have been sold. One was given away as a prize in the TweetBlast competition run by taptaptap.com in support of their new app, Convert. Lucky sod whoever won it
As a side note, the company that originally made the Stealths also have a huge range of customising options, not just for MacBooks, but for iPods, PS3s and other stuff too, including corporate designs. Visit Colorware at http://www.colorwarepc.com/
Alienware Area 51 ALX
Now I know you all have been on Apple’s site and customised your ultimate MacPro with a final price tag of around £13,000 but I actually prefer this hulk of a desktop. Although bred purely for gaming, and unless you are James Cameron, this beast will do just about anything from graphics to animation all without breaking a sweat. With a starting price of £2,899 you get a huge amount of processor power, RAM, Dual-SLI graphics and HDD, but if you want to make your bank manager worry, there’s a customise option, where you alter the guts to this:
- Intel® Core™ I7 Extreme Processor 975(3.33GHz, 6.4GT/s,8MB) Overclocked Lvl 3
- 23in SP2309W Full HD+ Widescreen Monitor
- 12GB 1333MHz Tri Channel Memory
- 1.5TB Dual Hard Drive Non RAID
- DUAL SLI™ 1.8GB NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX295
- Alienware TactX™ Keyboard and Alienware TactX™ Mouse
- Blu-Ray RW and Killer™ Xeno™ Pro Network card, with Genuine Windows® 7 Ultimate 64bit
How much I hear you say? Only a bit of small change at £5,327.99. Oh, and Portal with Steam client is thrown in for that
Other Random Stuff
Crazy Skateboards
Digital Wallpaper
Curved Widescreen Display
Funky Toshiba Hard Drives
Hopefully, as this blog grows, I’ll keep doing these wishlists as and when I come across design-related goodies on t’internet, something like Abduzeedo’s ‘Perfect Office’ features. I might also get a couple of guests to make a few of their own!
