Following my earlier announcement that Boulevard WP would be coded by CodeMyConcept and hosted by SFF Hosting, I can now today unveil the final theme, but with a twist. Originally, the plan was to make and host a site where we could sell the Boulevard W theme independently, so that we could be confident of knowing that every penny would go to the charity chosen. Anyone who’s anyone in the design industry should know already who Chuck Anderson is – or knows at least his moniker, NoPattern – and know that Chuck is one of the world’s leading designers having worked for such well-known companies such as Vans, Reebok, Mountain Dew, Microsoft, Warner Brothers, and ESPN. As well as leading the field of design, Chuck Anderson also focuses on personal art, design, and photography as well as collaborates with non-profits such as Invisible Children, charity:water, WordMadeFlesh, and The ADL, and was named as a Design Icon by Computer Arts Magazine in 2008. Lately, here has been a huge surge in the amount of freebie websites out there, offering everything from iconsets to full website templates, to random vectors and themes. Previously, only the biggest websites offered freebies as a token of thanks to subscribers and readers, or if you wanted to give it away for free, deviantART was the next best place. Now, the the choice is superb for you to submit those spare PSDs and vectors you have lying around, and with big designers jumping on the freebie bandwagon, the time is definitely right to get your hands on some excellent resources.
